After receiving encouragement from
many guitarists, including Classical virtuoso Liona
Boyd, Tom releases this cassette of all original solo
guitar performances (produced by Steve Fowler).
This release is well reviewed and one track especially; "Blues for Lenny Breau" receives substantial CBC
airplay.
This followup Cassette only release was
met with great reviews, with a full page feature
in the Our Times section of the the London Free
Press praising Tom's "World class music".
This release featured some ensemble pieces as well
as more original solo pieces by Tom. Again
produced by Steve Fowler.
This was Tom's first CD and again was
a mix of solo guitar and group pieces. Also
produced by Steve Fowler-(his work on the
song "Proctor's Retreat" is a real highlight.)
This CD featured a cover by esteemed artist Brian
Jones, whose work was also used on "Streamline".
After a seven year hiatus from recording, Tom returned with "Hands On". This project was produced by Bob Hiltz. " I wanted to do another guitar only project...pieces that would be very spare in nature-reduce everything to the basics and try to deliver performances with as much feel as possible." Tom's recording of Joe Zawinul's "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy " touches listeners across Canada, making this his most succesful release.
This brand new CD again features a mix of ensemble pieces, layered guitar compositions and solo guitar performances. Produced by Bob Hiltz. "The work is slanted towards my interpretations of jazz standards, both classic (Duke Ellington) and modern (Steely Dan, Pat Metheny), but there's lots of original pieces as well!"
